The most basic of traffic rules - STOP ON RED

Putrajaya, 27 April 2010: Red Means Stop... Transport Minister, Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat and Road Safety Department Director General, Datuk Suret Singh with enlarged sticker for the Red Means Stop Campaign the ministry is running with theSun. A total of 300,000 car stickers will be distributed with copies of theSun from today to remind motorists of the most basic of traffic rules - STOP ON RED. Sunpix by : Sharil Amin.

RED MEANS STOP - A Community Campaign by theSun

Don't smile, you're caught on camera

KUALA LUMPUR (April 6, 2010): This motorcyclist (circled) is definitely courting trouble.

He was spotted running the red light at the Jalan Tun Razak - Jalan Ampang junction, at 1.18pm today, during which he narrowly missed being hit by a car whose driver had obviously refused to give way to him.

The errant motorcyclist was in fact simultaneously committing a second offence -- that of making an illegal U-turn at the junction.

Motorists should bear in mind that being in a rush to go somewhere is not a good reason to disobey basic traffic rules, especially that "Red means Stop!" because their lives and limbs, as well as that of other road users will be at risk. -- theSun

Clock Points in the MS Community

The Aeroline Computerised Watchman Clock System which was handed over by BSDRA is employed by the MS Committee. The Aeroline is designed as a unique perimeter clocking system for monitoring your security guards. It would enhance our security, when information regarding our security guards' petrolling movement and productivity, will be made available to us at our fingertips.

Aeroline system is 'user-friendly'. It can be operated with little or no training and the information collected are very secure, accurate and can easily be downloaded into the BSDRA computer by the BSDRA Honorary Secretary to produce comprehensive reports.

At the present moment there are 18 clock points in the MS Community. The distribution of these points are as follows:

(1) Jalan Margosa SD10/1A - No. 7 & 9

(2) Jalan Margosa SD10/1B - No. 2, 5, 12A & 20

(3) Jalan Margosa SD10/1C - No. 1 & 10

(4) Jalan Margosa SD10/1D - No. 2 & 22

(5) Jalan Margosa SD10/1E - No. 3

(6) Jalan Margosa SD10/2 - No.16, 32 & 33

(7) Jalan Margosa SD10/3 - No. 9 & 28

(8) Jalan Margosa SD10/3A - No. 1, 3A & 13

The clocking is carried out on hourly basis by the security personnel who does the patrolling. It is most important that points should be wiped dry before clocking is permitted.

The profile of the company which supplies the Aeroline Computerised Watchman Clock System is shown below:

The mini carnivals will see various activities such as forums with the local authorities and outdoor broadcasts by RedFM.

(9) Jalan Margosa SD10/3A

(a) In front of house no. 11

Fire hydrants should stay clear of hindrance and creativity. The two photographs below would tell us a lot of issues.

Creativity sight-not! Rubbish craftily arranged to 'utilise' the fire hydrant to its fullest.

Fire hindrance - This fire hydrant could hardly be used during blaze with pots of plants around it.
